African Women Empowered's booth at Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market is #11. It is on 3rd St near the intersection with 2nd Ave. We are right next to Cliff's Dive Bar. The weather might be a little wet but should be light rain off and on. So grab your umbrella and come to see us!! We are so excited to show our Global Mamas merch along with all of our regular items!

It looks like Saturday will be a great day for the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market! I've been showing you fabulous clothes from Global Mamas BUT they have other items also. Look at these super cute fabric baskets! How awesome that they can be flattened when not in use.

When you purchase one of these bags, you're supporting their mission of providing support, skills training and opportunity for Cedar Rapids-based African women as they build better lives for themselves and their families. Many have survived refugee camps and have overcome incredible challenges. Each purchase supports a woman, her family and her future.

You do NOT want to miss Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market this Saturday, August 1st!!
For years many of you have admired the fair trade batik fabric that we get from a women's group in Ghana. The group is called Global Mamas. They start with certified organic white cotton. They dye it and stamp the design with hand carved stamps on every piece by hand. We have purchased this fabric and made skirts, bags, aprons and other merchandise with it.
We are SO VERY EXCITED!! We have a very limited partnership with Global Mamas. We now have a variety of merchandise that was made by the Mamas in Ghana. We will feature these items on August 1st at the market. When this merchandise is gone it will be gone.
