Wonder about our batik fabric? There is a group in Ghana, Africa called Global Mamas. They start with 100% organic white cotton fabric and do the batik work. They teach women this skill in an attempt to bring them out of poverty and help them built a sustainable future. We buy this gorgeous fabric from them. So, when you purchase our batik products, you are helping 2 women's groups!
Here is a sneak preview of some of the things we will have on sale tomorrow. ALL BATIK PRODUCTS WILL BE AT LEAST 10% OFF (More in some cases)!

Our special sale tomorrow is merchandise made with batik fabric. I'll call it The Batik Sale...no..how about Batik Bonanza..better but not quite there. I know! How about Batik Boutique!!
I peeked in the shop before I went on vacation and saw the start of some Batik projects. I wonder how they will turn out. Here are pics of 'in process' merch.

The last market was VERY wet! Thanks to those who came down anyway!
Not many were able to take advantage of the weekly sale so we are repeating it this week! Look back at the posts explaining the story behind our Elephant bags.
Tomorrow those bags will be on sale. Regular price is $30 but tomorrow they will be $25 or two for $45!
Also come to our booth wearing or using any of our merchandise and get 10% off any new purchases!

Continuing my story about the elephants and the bag. I grew to love the style of the bag and how much I could carry in it. We decided to make our own version of the 'elephant bag'. After a few tries, we came up with what has become out best selling bag!
And now you know why we call these bags 'elephant bags'!
Here are a few of the updated ones. Notice that on the outside of the bag there is an open and a zipper pocket. The bag features a zipper closure and inside pockets.
This bag normally sells for $30 but for tomorrow only we are Rolling Back the price to $25 each or 2 for $45!!

Hello Friends and Followers!
Before I announce our Market Special for tomorrow, I want to tell you a little about my 1st trip to Africa in October, 2010.
One morning we had our 1st encounter with a group of elephants 🐘 ! It was amazing!! We saw them play in the water with another group of elephants 🐘. They splashed each other, dunked each other, and just had so much fun. We were able to see the mothers carefully watching and protecting the littles. One macho baby boy even flared his ears and trumpeted at us. Pretty sure I saw his Mom roll her 👀 at him. It was fabulous to watch them!
Shortly after this amazing safari ride, we arrived at Ngorogoro Caldera. At the entrance to this site we were able to visit a small gift shop. That was here I found IT!....my favorite bag of all time, esp. since we had just been with elephants 🐘.

Well, this week has certainly flown by!! Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market is usually at least 2 weeks apart but this time it is only 1 week.

What a FABULOUS morning we had a Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market this morning! The crowd was great and the weather was perfect!
The BEST thing was the large number of people who stopped by and were wearing a skirt or carrying a bag they got from us previously! We were so thrilled about this that we have decided to give a 10% DISCOUNT on any new items purchased to any customers who visit our booth and are wearing or using previously purchased A.W.E. merchandise! This promotion will last ALL SUMMER LONG!

I promised you a post about this week's Downtown Farmers Market weekly sale so here we go!
We will be featuring our UNcosmetic cosmetic bags! They are normally $15 but this Saturday we are Rolling Back the price to just $10 each!

First, a reminder that the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market starts THIS Saturday, May 25th! It looks like the weather will be fabulous! The first market is always special and extra fun!
