I am proud to say that Leap of Faith is one of the longest-running gift shops in my beautiful home town of Cedarburg! Leap has been around for over 25 years, and in July 2023, we will have been at our new location for over 9 years (wow how time flies)! My parents moved to Cedarburg in 1972 when I was four years old and my sister 6. In our high school years, my mom, (founder of Leap of Faith, Patri
cia Lietzke) began working as a kindergarten aid and later as a photographic librarian. Around 1996, she decided to pursue her passion for art. She literally told herself she was going to take a "leap of faith" to pursue this new life path. She first found a small studio near home, just blocks from downtown Cedarburg. She quickly realized she needed a name for her new "business" and thus, Leap of Faith was born! A few years later, she found a small 450 sq. space on the 3rd floor in the historic Cedar Creek Settlement and Winery. She split her space in half - her art studio in back overlooking the Creek, and a space in front to showcase her artwork. She supplemented the space with creative and unique art, jewelry and other creative gifts from others across the country, and it turned into a mini gift shop of sorts. About this time, I coincidentally had left my corporate job. She invited me to help her and I never left! After 5 years on the third floor, a 650 sq. I begged her to take it as we would have more visibility. She reluctantly agreed to leave her sweet little spot overlooking the creek. But as a result, we grew into a more prominent staple! After another 11 years there, my mom decided to retire at the age of 72. We were so humbled by the amount of people that were saddened by the news. And since I had been working with her for nearly 15 years and out of corporate life for so long, I decided to continue Leap of Faith's legacy. But I wanted to spread our wings, and look for a larger location. As luck would have it, I found it, and we are now five times as big as were were! We are on the main drag now! Find us anchoring the north end of town, just across the street from our old location (directly west of the Cedar Creek Winery and Anvil Pub and Grill). Look for our black striped awning and you've found us :D! We hope you find the same uplifting, peaceful environment you have come to love from Leap of Faith. We carry many of the same amazing gifts and are always on the prowl for new amazing products. My mom still finds time to work at the shop on occasion. And my husband has recently come on board! Before we married 12 years ago, he and his daughter were customers of Leap of Faith.
