What's your favorite oldies song?! Dad played them in the car on roadtrips when I was a kid sometimes. I had a Monkees obsession.

Before 1901 they used this doodad! (Also meant to say petrol/gas not petroleum powered). Hope nobody minded I hid a few correct answers to give more time to guess; love all the engagement. Thanks!

Ok, if you're 40 and below, guess what this is in the comments! If you're above 40, congratulate yourself for being born before jelly shoes...ouch. I haven't seen a braided one of these before!

Yesterday Dad helped me stain these rough hewn boards for shelving that Eddie sourced and sanded.

My Dad has been my biggest actions-not-just-words supporter in this wild adventure of getting a shop ready to open hopefully by Sept 5, along with my Mom who is a tremendous help with my kids. My parents are my original DIY inspo. (Mom usually designed the furniture they built together, building our dressers, shelves and bunk beds, etc.) If I never got to live my dream of opening a brick and mortar, I'd still consider myself the luckiest gal in Ohio.

Eddie is using local barnwood beams from the recently deconstructed Stormont family barn, built in 1942, to construct these shelves in the Bespoke Mercantile. His brother-in-law, Mike Stormont, and some random gents Eddie pulled from the street to help, hefted the aproximately 200 lb beams into place yesterday. Cedarville is full of some pretty great folks and history!

The barn beams Eddie is using to construct these Bespoke Mercantile shelves came from the local Stormont barn, deconstructed this year, built originally in 1942. Mike Stormont, Eddie's brother-in-law, and some random gents Eddie grabbed off the street, hefted the approximately 200 lb beams yesterday and made it look easy. Cedarville's got some pretty great folks and history in it.

I am thinking I lucked out with my brick and mortar storefront being right next to Lola's Mexican Restaurant! Tried a new drink called Agua de Jamaica (say "Ah Gwa Day High May Cah" 😁 unless Carlos tells you otherwise!) after working to get more of the shop set up for my hopeful early Sept. opening date!
