Wrinkles Tell a Story
Have you ever noticed that some of the prettiest clothes are often the ones that wrinkle the easiest? Take linen, for example. You can steam it, press it, hang it just right... and the minute you sit down, there they are—wrinkles!
But isn't it funny? We don't stop loving linen because it wrinkles. In fact, we expect it. It's part of what gives it its charm. It's comfortable, timeless, and full of character.

It got me thinking...
Why are we so much kinder to our clothes than we are to ourselves?
Life has a way of leaving wrinkles too.
Not just the ones we see in the mirror, but the ones on our hearts.
The wrinkles from raising kids and wondering if you were doing enough.
The wrinkles from caring for aging parents.
The wrinkles from losing someone you loved, walking through disappointment, making mistakes, starting over, or simply carrying more than anyone else knows.
Those seasons change us.

For the longest time, I think we've been taught to hide those wrinkles. To act like everything is fine. To make everyone believe we have it all together.
But maybe that's not how we're supposed to live.
Maybe those wrinkles are part of our story.
Maybe they're what teach us compassion, patience, grace, and gratitude.
I truly believe God doesn't waste the hard seasons. Even the ones we never would have chosen. Somehow, He has a way of taking the broken pieces, the disappointments, and the tears, and shaping them into something beautiful.
Just like that favorite linen shirt, our lives don't have to be perfectly pressed to be beautiful.

In fact, maybe it's the wrinkles that remind us we've lived.
That we've loved deeply. That we've laughed until we cried.
and, that we've cried until we found hope again. That we've kept going.

So today, give yourself a little grace. Stop wishing away every wrinkle in your story.
Instead, thank God for the journey that brought you here, because the woman you are today was shaped by every single chapter.

And, if someone else can see your wrinkles—not the ones on your face, but the ones in your story—they just might find the courage to keep going in theirs.
