My view for the last three days. Buying for the holidays might seem like barrels of fun, and while it's not NOT fun, it's also one of the most stressful things I do all year.

What's the right mix of favorites and new products? How many different ornaments do we need? Do we have a good representation of craft varieties and countries represented? How much money can we actually spend? Will people show up? What if they don't like what we have? I think it's cute, what if no one else does? Did I buy too much of this? Did I buy too little of that? Did I triple check the bank account? Where are we going to put it all? How will we get the help to unpack it? DO WE HAVE ENOUGH CHOCOLATE?

It's exhausting. It's exciting. It's terrifying. Every small business faces it and I truly believe that everyone reading this already knows the importance of showing up for your favorite shops during the holidays. But my humble ask is that, perhaps, you show up in the next month or two as well? When we've taken the leap of faith to buy all sorts of goodies for our busy season and are not sleeping, wondering if we made the right decisions. Even if it's not a purchase right now, let us know you won't forget us for the holidays. Share us with your friends and family. Visit our website (sorry the catalogue is still clunky) for a sneak peak of what's coming this season as we receive it. Give us a wave as you walk by.

A beloved downtown Champaign tradition is back. (And rumor has it, this vest might be making a comeback….)

Join Champaign Center Partnership on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 12PM–5PM for an afternoon of wine tasting, community, and exploring downtown Champaign with friends and family.

Check-in begins at the Inman Hotel / Farren’s.

From there, guests will visit 14 downtown businesses hosting wine tastings featuring selections from major wine-producing regions around the world.

Wines are curated by Champaign Center Partnership members Punch! and Big Grove Tavern, with opportunities to purchase your favorites for home enjoyment.

Tickets are $40 and available now on Eventbrite.

BUT I did get some upcycled sari footbags in this week! Slightly smaller and lighter weight but they’ll function for the same fun!
