Adams Holsters

Adams Holsters My primary focus is producing a comfortable and concealable holster solution. I make every holster myself, one at a time by hand.

I use top quality Herman Oak leather which makes a very durable attractive holster!

Shoulder holster with a custom backstrap. In house built pivots and a few other tweaks. Turned out nice and will include the default leather hardware in case he ever wants to change down the road.

Updates wise things are busy in the shop and the mix of production work and custom leather has me running. But still building and shipping, guys waiting probably running a bit behind the lead time. But I'm always working to see daylight.

Take care!

It's been a little while so those wondering I took a step back from social media heavily after my dad passed away. I just focused on family and building orders more than spending time on Facebook and Instagram. But the other day I got to thinking people might think that because I'm not actively posting maybe I'm not still building orders. I am, I'm fairly backlogged as I have been the last several years(and dealing with some freaking cold weather at the moment). But I'm still building and shipping as always, never been the fastest guy but I do try and make sure I'm building the best gear I can.

So likely I won't update again for a while but I hope everyone enjoys the holidays with family and is doing well:)

Take care!

New variation of my shoulder rigs for wheelgun setups. Basically it takes my speedloader pouch design and setup and inverts them onto a shoulder setup. Makes for a slightly smaller setup weak side and just generally works a little bit better in use.

So wheelgun shoulder rigs with speedloaders or moonclips will run this setup going forward ;)

The holster you choose is key,
In Texas, it's like a part of thee.

The Texas Holster is both cool and bold,
With leather so premium, it never gets old.

It keeps your firearm secure and snug,
Whether you're a pro or just a newcomer.

So why settle for a basic holster on your hip,
When you can have style and function with the Texas grip?

Lol at AI generating a poem about a holster;) Have a great day folks;)

Today's shipment, this was way way more difficult than it looks;) I designed a lot of parts to build this particular rig from the light to barrel extension to extended mags etc. I also designed and built the tab reinforments and a bunch of other stuff.

That said happy with the rig took a couple pictures while it was warm and sunny this afternoon. Back to it again tomorrow ;)

Take care and I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Sharkbite rig in elephant. I've mentioned this before but the history of this design is rather interesting. I'm using natural shark with denticles not removed. That provides the grip to hold the holster in the pocket and doesn't wear anything like rubber or other normal materials. It reminds me of velcro to a degree but in one direction. They face upward keeping the holster in position within the pocket. I actually had to figure out how much grip I needed so it was easy to put in the pocket but still removable. The first version actually had shark front and back full coverage it was utterly terrible;) It gripped so strong you had to fight to get it out of your pocket at the end of the day.

Still a unique and interesting design, I built it out to work for me and was my backup gun rig while traveling what I called my "gas pump" gun. Kept it in my weak side pocket with my 380 in there and kept my hand in my pocket while I filled the 100 gallon tank on the motorhome sometimes in slightly sketchy areas;)

Always working on new ideas this itself isn't new. But a closing time appendix for a wheelgun along with my unique speedloader pouches are a bit new in that sense.

I've got some other new things in the mix had some ideas that had been sitting on the back burner the last while that I went ahead and have been testing. And I've made a bunch of evolutionary changes to a lot of the designs I've made for years. Using the speedloader pouches as an example. The earliest version was more of a split 6 style that the belt went up between the rounds in the speedloader. The current ones operate more like my moonclip pouches with a custom designed leg of plastic that runs up into the loader indexing the rounds and supporting the loader up above the belt.

So more than anything sometimes my work appears the same to degree as it always has. And I'll never cut the quality guys know from me. But I'll always be thinking about better ways to build stuff and recently bringing more technology into the designs via cad modeling etc.

Had some "help" in the shop lately;) We moved the home schooling into a portion of the shop so I've had the kids out here most everyday for the last several weeks. We're finding a balance of me getting work done and being able to jump into teaching(spent a good hour going through Math with Eli today, good reminder that it's been 20+ years since I did much for normal math also;)

But as a result my little Curly has been "helping" dad, man I appreciate people who make working with kids look easy;) It's not easy for me, that said I'm sure as they grow up these will be memories that they'll take with them in life. So I'll take it even if it's a struggle, my saying lately has been "struggle well" meaning you'll have to struggle in life with things but the point is to do it well;)

Enjoy fall!

Luke

About

My name is Luke Adams. I've been involved with fi****ms all of my life. In 2009 I started making holsters. Fi****ms have always been a passion for me, and that was because of my family. My wife also helps out in the shop doing some of my finishing and email etc. So we do various parts of the process though I build all of our rigs she is involved in part of the process. My grandfather, Don, was a peace officer and he passed on many lessons to my father, Dave, who has been involved with fi****ms his entire life. If you met a gentleman at a gun show with my holsters, chances are that's him. I began carrying a concealed handgun regularly around 2004 and went down the path many have in trying to find a comfortable way to carry. I've owned countless holsters of all sorts of designs and materials from leather to Kydex and generally found that they didn't solve the problem of a comfortable way to carry daily. I decided rather than spending more money on holsters that I just couldn't seem to get to work that I would build some of my own. My first few holsters were pretty rough around the edges but their focus was on comfort rather than looks. As I made more holsters I found better ways to change my designs and took inspiration from some of the other successful holster makers on the market. I have found that there are quite a few different ways to fold leather, Kydex, or cloth to make a holster but most of the time inspiration came from someone else's ideas. If you read down to the bottom of this page I will put up a list of other holster makers that I have found inspiration in either their designs or the way they make holsters. I've also read countless pages of advice on forums and heard quite a bit of it in person from guys testing out my gear. I've always been a do-it-yourself kind of guy, so I started making some holsters for myself. Soon I was making them for friends and family, and then for other poeple. Issac Newton's old quote that "A dwarf on a giant's shoulders sees farther of the two" comes into play here. There are only so many ways a holster maker can fold and sew a piece of leather. Here is a list of great holster makers that I've taken inspiration from over the years. They aren't in any particular order. They all make excellent gear.
