1984... A good year for a Selectric. These 7mil serial number II's are gems.

This has a 1975 shell in the famous red.

Off to a happy writer in California.

Once these are serviced, well, they can run for decades again. With very little maintenance other than protection from dust and regular use.

Glorious machine. The Lettera 32. The key action flutters like a butterfly. I'd say it's the latest action manual that I've tested. Also, it has adjustment points for almost every misalignment. Send people love me the aesthetic; for others, it's a little too modernist or utilitarian.

In any case, it's certainly worth the exploration.

It's hard to find these in such near perfect condition.... sometimes we get lucky.

Well, portables are more practical for most writing situations.... there's nothing as grounding or stabilizing as writing on a desktop typewriter.

Finishing up The Screenless Writer book. I have aleather folio I put the draft in as I finalize the order. That's my wooden NEXUS Zettelkasten. (ANTInet). One of the reasons this book has taken so long as because I am also researching and refining the writing process.

So that the next one will be better and more streamlined. So far, I have the screen time to zero on this book. Going into the final stages, I am continually refining the workflow. I'm considering how I get this thing published and how to minimize screen use during the process. And whether that aspect really matters.

Meanwhile, Classic Typewriter has us so busy that I can barely find time to write. Especially this holiday season.

But I am pressing on. Keep fighting the good fight.

I was sitting at a rest stop in Florida, chatting, when an r v squealed off the road and slammed into a tree ride by us.

Fortunately everyone was okay. We essentially broke open the window and sat with the people until the ambulance came and took the man away.

We're always lucky to be alive. We just forget.
