After a very busy November, we are taking some time to visit family up North. We will be back for a few pre Christmas markets in Chapel Hill. Hope to see you there!

Get ready for Winter Hours at Carrboro and Chapel Hill! There are many opportunities to visit us and get your knives sharpened this month in anticipation of the holidays. Ralph has also been hard at work carving spoons for holiday gifting. You can find them at all the markets we attend and especially at the Eno River Local Art Showcase happening on Saturday November 29th in Hillsborough. We have been experimenting with traditional spoon decorating techniques including roasting, ebonizing, and kolrosing and our examples will be available for purchase there. We hope to see you soon!

As we continue to await the arrival of our newest little sharpener, this schedule is another tentative one. While we hope to make it to each of these markets in some fashion, baby timing may prevent this. We will be sure to post any updates so check back before coming to visit us. We are so excited to be back in North Carolina after a long sojourn with extended family. We are hopeful to be at each of these markets however, since the baby is due to arrive in the next several weeks, we may miss 1 or 2. Can’t wait to see you all again!

Ash & Loon Knife Sharpening is a small family business that specializes in knife and scissor sharpening. Our mobile set up is ideal for kitchen knives, pocket knives, and scissors. We can sharpen western and Japanese kitchen knives, cleavers, sewing and craft scissors, kitchen and pinking shears, and most serrated knives. We can also repair broken/bent tips, large chips, recurve profiles and large bolsters. We use a high precision, water cooled grinding machine that gives a sharper-than-factory edge. Service is first-come, first-served and wait time can vary.

We are excited to be sharpening at the Mt. Pleasant Farmers' Market this week. We will be available for 2 weeks only - Thursday May 15th and 22nd. Hope to see you there!

We can sharpen western and Japanese kitchen knives, cleavers, sewing and craft scissors, kitchen and pinking shears, and most serrated knives. We can also repair broken/bent tips, large chips, recurve profiles and large bolsters. We use a high precision, water cooled grinding machine that gives a sharper-than-factory edge. Wait times can vary from 30 minutes to an hour or more and there is a possibility that we will fill up before the end of the day.
