Happy 4th of July everyone! Look at this sweet pic a friend sent to me. I made this quilt probably 10 years ago. It was made specifically with all patriotic shirts and they used it for the perfect event. These quilts are meant to be used.

People often ask- “how many shirts do I need to make a stuffed animal?” It depends on a few things:do I need to match strips/pattern? How big is your shirt? Are we using accent colors for any parts (my personal favorite is ears and feet)
This bear is being made with vertical stripes from an extra large man’s dress shirt. All but 1 leg, 2 paws and 2 ear pieces are fitting on the back of the shirt. The previous bear was made with large horizontal stripes from an extra large golf shirt. I used every inch of it trying to match those large stripes.
