Following a very stressful week this picture from Amalfi popped into my memories and felt right to share such a peaceful and beautiful place. Just looking at this photo brings my blood pressure down. Such a special place. Highly recommend visiting. Remember when going through something tough keep on going the light will shine again.

Politics aside the Obama’s brought grace, dignity, poise, professionalism and strength to the White House and our country. They made me proud to be an American. I want to get back to a time when decorum and honesty and civil rights and freedom ruled our country. Enough already with the current administration. Time to make America great again. We have fallen but we can also rise again. Ushering in the new year with new energy and determination.

2026 is the year of the yang fire horse in Chinese astrology. The Fire Horse symbolizes intense energy, passion, transformation, and dynamic action, blending the Horse’s inherent traits of freedom and perseverance with Fire’s intensity, creating a powerful force for rapid progress, innovation, and breaking through obstacles, often signifying a rare, transformative period in the Chinese zodiac. It’s associated with courage, assertiveness, and a fast-paced life, encouraging bold moves and decisive action, but also demanding awareness of one’s limits. I am hopeful as this new year is ushered in that these traits flush out all of the chaotic and harmful trends we have seen, experienced and shouldered over the past few months. It’s time for America to return to what makes America great, being kind, neighborly, supportive and upholders of justice. As a country we were founded on the tenets of freedom. It’s time we reembrace the ideals that actually make us free. Let’s hope 2026 brings us closer together rather than further apart.

I had the great fortune to get over to Martha’s Vineyard this past weekend and captured this beautiful sunset right outside the . It was a whirlwind of a trip but oh so valuable in its restorative properties. Spending time on the water was fabulous. The salty sea air, the more laid back attitude, the delicious food and the amazing real estate eye candy left your soul happy. I truly do believe everyone needs to get away for a while. Break up your daily routine. Do something just because you can and not because you have to. What would you choose to do if you could do it tomorrow?

Last night in services our rabbi spoke about love. He spoke about a recovery center in NYC run by a former rabbi who seeks to find the beauty within everyone and make that beauty shine to help everyone he meets love themselves just a little bit more. He provided a metaphor of a diamond. When a diamond is found in a mine it is a black chunk of stone and it takes the skills of a diamond cutter to precisely bring the beauty of the stone to light. Our rabbi suggested we treat ourselves and others like diamonds that need to be cut and polished. Find the beauty within everyone, regardless of what you see at first. It’s there if you look closely enough. On this Yom Kippur may you always be surrounded by those who can see your beauty and help radiate your love.

Was scrolling through my phone deleting photos and ran across this gem of a detail shot from a gut bathroom renovation completed last year. Inspiration for the bathroom design came from the home itself. A stunning Victorian built at the end of the 1800’s. When your clients love being organized as much as they love their shoes. This was a really fun project for my client in Back Bay. I’m not going to lie it would be really nice to have this much closet space, who else agrees? Dreams like this keep me focused. But if you really know me you know I’m a huge fan of the small house movement. Live in well designed smaller spaces and have more free time to sit and watch the sunsets…

This past week Miss Chloe got her biopsy results back. Thankfully everything was benign. As she ages the fear of loosing her creeps in a little bit more with each medical trial we face and it reminds me of ’s message of impermeability. No matter what we want or how we feel things will always change. I’m grateful for each additional day we have together and thank my lucky stars she entered my life 10 years ago. Her presence and love have added a millennium of gifts to mine.

Here’s a fun detail from a recent project. The bugs made me smile as I’m headed somewhere with lots of nature/wilderness. Any guesses where? Hint, it’s almost 21 hrs of travel to get there. I’m grateful for the opportunity to travel and see family and make crazy memories together. Thank you to all my loyal clients that make it possible for me to see my family and for us to spend time together. I don’t know when I’ll be back online but stay tuned for some fun pics of our adventures.
