❤️A Little Heart-to-Heart From Shary ❤️

I’ve been debating whether or not to share this, but I feel that my customers and tearoom friends deserve to know what has been happening behind the scenes.

This past month life changed hard and fast for my family in a way we never expected.
My husband had a heart attack.

As you can imagine, my priorities changed overnight. And with everything that came with these changes, I had to make the difficult decision to return to a Monday to Friday day job.

That also meant making another difficult decision and change. Effectively immediately The Cottage Boutique & Tearoom will now only be open on Saturdays and Sundays. I hope to open on an occasional Friday with help from my amazing vendors but I will have to wait and see how things go, one day at a time.

The store has been such a special part of my life. A dream I worked hard to bring to life. It isn't just a Boutique & Tearoom to me. It has been a place where folks have celebrated birthdays, showers, special occasions, laughed, enjoyed afternoon tea and sweets, found unique treasures, handmade crafts, supported small businesses, and made wonderful memories.

Lately things have been very quiet. Summer is normally a slower time for us, but this summer has been especially slow. I've often sat wondering what I can do to bring more people through our doors. I’m not asking for sympathy. I’m simply sharing my story and asking if you can, to help us keep our little hidden gem in business.

Come browse, have a cup of tea, enjoy a treat, find a special gift, or bring a friend along with you. If you aren’t able to visit, sharing this post or any of the boutique & tearoom posts may help someone discover us for the first time. And that would be a huge!

I’m doing my best to balance family, work and the dream that brought this boutique and tearoom business to life which, I so dearly love.

Thank you for everything and most importantly your understanding and support. I’m not giving up on The Cottage Boutique & Tearoom yet!

Strange Attractions, a unique vendor with a variety of novelty items and quality handmade creations like their freshies and tumblers. They take custom orders as well!

Their style definitely leans toward spooky, horror, gothic, and all things a little strange (hence the name) but they can and do make other cute and fun styles too!!
