🧵✨ STITCHED WITH PURPOSE: Fashion Show Prep is Underway! ✨🧵

Our students are officially in design mode!

Over the past few classes, they have been learning the fundamentals of garment construction by exploring commercial sewing patterns—including how to:

✂️ Read pattern envelopes and instructions
📏 Identify pattern markings and symbols
🧩 Understand pattern pieces and layout guides
🧵 Select the correct size and make adjustments
✂️ Properly pin, place, and cut fabric for construction

Now comes the exciting part… they’re using those skills to create their final garments for our upcoming “Garden Couture Presents: Stitched for Success” Fashion Showcase! 🌿✨

Watching these students transform fabric into wearable art has been incredible. Through patience, creativity, and determination, they’re learning that sewing is more than just making clothes—it’s building confidence, problem-solving skills, and a sense of purpose.

Every stitch tells a story, and we can’t wait for you to see their hard work come to life on the runway this August! 💚

Do you have a garment that needs mending or altering, but don't have a sewing machine? Or maybe you want to make curtains that match your new wall color? If so, come by for A Stitch in Time: Open Sewing Lab, held on the second Monday evening of each month! 🪡

Sewing machines will be available on a first first-come, first-served basis. Some supplies, like thread, will be available, but we encourage you to bring your own. This is intended to be a self-guided program, but basic machine assistance can be provided. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
