🕯️June 1, 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre on Black American soil. We will continue to tell the truth of the domestic terrorism against our people!
Today, we pause to remember the lives stolen, the dreams interrupted, the businesses bombed, the churches destroyed, the people traumatized, and the thriving community that was violently attacked in Greenwood, Tulsa—known around the world as Black Wall Street.
Before it was burned, Greenwood was a beacon of Black community, excellence, self-determination, faith, entrepreneurship, and economic power. It was proof of what our people could build when we came together with the goal to flourish. Though buildings were destroyed, a spirit could not be erased.
We honor the men, women, elders, and children whose lives were forever impacted by the events of May 31–June 1, 1921. We remember the business owners, pastors, educators, laborers, visionaries, and families who built a community that changed history.
Their legacy calls us to continue the work:
✊🏽 Economic Justice
🏛️ Community Building
📚 Education
🤝🏽 Collective Responsibility
👑 Cultural Pride
🕊️ Freedom
We are the descendants of dreamers, builders, innovators, futurists, and survivors. May we never forget what was lost. May we never stop building what they began.
