Growing up in West Africa, it was a challenge to find comfortable dressy shoes for myself. I would wear a pair of shoes to church and on the way home, walk barefooted because they hurt. Moving to the US over 2 decades ago did not make it any easier. I would shop at multiple retailers and end up with what was available and not what I liked. It only got worse as my foot size blew up from a 9.5 to US 11 after having my beautiful daughters. My fashion sense grew but existing shoe manufacturers either made very few shoes in my size or did not make them at all. Since then, I have been nursing this idea of designing and manufacturing shoes for women with unique needs. Time, fate and grace have made it possible for me to partner with an amazing shoe designer and the best manufacturer I could ask for. Together we have created our first line of shoes, “The Essential collection”.
