From to the , this week proved that when you design with , heart, and , barriers start to disappear. 💫

LS Adaptive had the honor of walking the runway at the first-ever Fashion Is Ageless show, co-hosted by FIT and NYCAging. Seeing our pieces movement-tested on the runway was the ultimate reminder that style has no age limit or barrier. A huge thank you to Dr. Lisa Scott-McKenzie, Commissioner of NYC Aging, for showing how powerful intergenerational teams really are.

From the runway to the world stage, co-founder Emily spent the rest of the week at UNOP events exploring the future of retail and fashion, connecting with FIT Professor Dana Craig, and gathering the LS Adaptive advisory board in person for the very first time! 💙

Huge gratitude to Johanna, Sonja, Rebecca, and Bill for making this week so unforgettable.

We’re here to bridge the gap between everyday , smart , and real —helping people save time, conserve energy, and move through the world with confidence. ✨

When designing , the smallest hardware choices carry the biggest weight in someone’s daily routine.

For years, hook-and-loop fasteners were treated as the default solution. Anyone who has worn or cared for those pieces knows the trade-offs: snagged fabrics, rough textures, loud sounds, and closures that wear out after a few laundry cycles.

When Emily set out to build a better solution, she knew everyday apparel needed a more intentional path forward. Partnering with Scott, whose background in engineering and IP helped bring the vision to life, they developed proprietary Hana Fasteners™.

Swapping out rigid fasteners for hidden completely changes the morning routine. LS Adaptive’s Hana Fasteners™ snap together with gentle, intuitive ease—requiring minimal grip strength or fine motor effort. No pulling, no friction, and no ruined sweater knits. It is a quiet detail that transforms getting dressed from a daily hurdle into a moment of .

By merging retail-level craft with real-world , apparel can actively support and conserve physical energy for what matters most.

Below is a short clip from a conversation on “Not Ready Yet: Curating Conversations for the Aging Journey,” where host M. Harper and Emily dig into why thoughtful closure design makes all the difference.
