July was full of surprises. 🤍

So many of this month’s brides walked through our doors wondering if they would actually have “the feeling.” Some worried it might never come. Others expected to try on dozens of dresses before they found the one.

Instead, for so many of them, the moment arrived when they least expected it. Sometimes it was the very first dress.

That’s the beautiful thing about finding your one. It isn’t about how many gowns you try on or how long the search takes. It’s about the moment something clicks and you see yourself standing at the beginning of your next chapter.

One call we get most often is "do you carry Mother of the Bride dresses?". The answer is we do not, but there are some great places in Charlottesville we definitely recommend.

is right around the corner from us and always has stunning dresses both in their window and in their store. We are so happy they are part of the Main Street family here.

is located in the North wing of Barracks Road Shopping Center. With their expanded space, they have so many wonderful pieces to look through.

Last but certainly not least would be in the Shops at Stonefield. Their inventory stays fresh, they are always worth a look!

We hope these help our bride's and their Mom's as everyone gets ready for the big day!

Rhea Update: Rhea Sage is still working on learning the ropes at the store. She loves greeting people and is working to temper her enthusiasm. She really seems to love when kids and grammas come in. Though she is not often here for Saturday appointments yet, our brides during the week have all fallen in love, and really who can blame them! We are still optimistic with a little more time she will become the perfect shop dog!

Madison's smile really says it all. From the moment Madison put on Carrington, I knew this dress was something special. In fact...I knew this was the one dress that absolutely had to come to The One...if only because I loved it as much as Madison did.

My favorite quote from Madison so sweetly trying all of these dresses on for me:
"I love how these fit! They are better than any of my clothes at home."

That means so much as I consider what dresses and collections to add to The One. Madison joins several other brides who have already experienced this feeling with the Eddy K Collection.

Beautiful fabrics, thoughtful construction, incredible support, and gowns that are designed to celebrate a bride's curves instead of asking her to fit into the dress. Carrington is a stunning ivory brocade ballgown featuring a softly draped neckline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, a flattering basque waist, hidden pockets, and buttons that trail all the way to the end of the train. She is timeless, elegant, and just a little bit dramatic.

When I chose to bring the Eddy K Curvy Collection to The One, it wasn't just because the gowns are beautiful. It was because of conversations like this.

Katie's passion for the collection is genuine. She doesn't just talk about the dresses. She talks about the brides they'll serve, the versatility they offer, and the importance of creating a collection that makes more women feel confident and seen. Those are the kinds of partnerships I want for this salon.
