The Charlottesville Track Club’s popular summer all comers track meet series kicks off this week at the beautiful CHS Curtis Elder track. The meets are at 6:30pm every Tuesday in July and are FREE to all ages (2 and older). Come join us!

Ragged Royalty! What a treat it was to have our former manager Anthony Holbrook and his family visit us all the way from California. He and Becky’s four beautiful kids came from our sixth “Ragged Mountain Marriage” (where two employees meet at Ragged and then get married…we’ve had 10 thus far). They will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

The Lorenzoni and Ragged Mountain families are deeply saddened at the tragic loss of our dear longtime friend Dennis Roethlisberger. This giant hearted man was a wonderful friend to countless neighbors in our community, as he selflessly gave so much of himself to so many! He would always answer his phone with a cheery and sincere “how can I help?”. Just one example of Dennis’s quiet but immensely impactful community gifts was setting up all of the water stops at 3:00 in the morning at the CTC’s Women’s Four Miler for the past 25 years! He did this in the dark of night, and without fanfare, so that the thousands of participants were always treated to a safe event. Classic Dennis! Our hearts are with Paula, his wife and best friend, who also has been a kind friend to more people than anyone can imagine…and to Paula and Dennis’s family. Our community is truly grateful for the gigantic generosity of this remarkable man. All of us who were touched by his kindness will forever hold him in our hearts.

We’re so proud of our Ragged Mountain “kids” who sped to blue ribbon winning performances at the State Championships! Congrats to Sam, Grant & Cy (4x800 State Champs for CHS), Ryan (800 State Champ for MHS) and Quinn (1600 State Champ for STAB)!

Congrats to our Zoë, who recently passed the Virginia Bar exam and was officially sworn in by the Commonwealth of Virginia this week! We’re so very proud of her wonderful accomplishment, as she did all of this while working for us at Ragged. Way to go, Zoë!
