The signs are up…the volunteers are ready…CTC race director Jaime is all set! So, it’s almost “Go Time” for the Charlottesville Women’s Four Miler this Saturday at Foxfield! Come join our Ragged Mountain family and close to 2000 other female runners and walkers who will be participating all to benefit the UVa Women’s Breast Care Center. And it’s not too late to register to run, walk or volunteer!

Let the games begin! We had a beautiful day to kick off the XC season, as we hosted our annual Valley Cup relay race! Over 400 athletes from 20 Valley schools ran over the beautiful two mile course. A huge thanks to Coach Tripp Franklin and his Wilson staff for helping us organize the meet, to Dr. Wilder’s wonderful UVa Runners Clinic crew and to Fred Green and Larry Minor in helping our family with this special event. Our Panorama edition of The Cup is Wednesday September 2nd. Results are at Blue Ridge Timing. Oops! Forgot to add to post before the thanks. Congrats to team Champions Rockbridge County (Boys) and Spotswood (Girls) and to all the hardworking athletes!

Come join us for a special evening with our friend Emilee Hackney as she talks with Philip Lorish about her wonderful debut memoir “All That’s Unseen” ( #9 on the NY Times bestseller list this week) at Commerce Street Books this Thursday (8/20) at 7:00pm. Can’t make it this Thursday? Emilee will be doing another free public presentation locally on September 1st at Cove Presbyterian Church at 6:30pm. Hope you can join us to hear Emilee talk about her fascinating journey.

A huge THANKS to all who donated and who walked 5 mile loops (or more) on Sunday for Audrey’s 25 mile fundraiser for Innisfree Village! Over 50 Ragged Mountain friends and family joined us in the rain and over $15,000 has been raised for our friends at Innisfree thanks to the generosity of countless friends!

Congrats to our longtime Ragged Mountain friend Ann Dunn on her new job as the women’s distance running coach at UNC! She will be deeply missed by so many in our community but will most definitely be warmly embraced by those lucky women she’ll be coaching this fall. We wish her all the very best!

Come support our longtime friend, neighbor and beloved filmmaker for our ‘Chris Farina Day’ at Ragged this Wednesday (7/29), where we will be donating a percentage of our sales to help fund Chris’s last documentary “Death Becomes Us”. Thanks for being a part of Chris’s magical journey.

Congrats, National Champ Nate! It was so much fun cheering for Nate  Mountain as he won the Steeplechase at the US National T&F championships! We loved cheering for him in person throughout his time at UVa but, even though we were watching him on the television, it was still so sweet to yell at the screen as he sped to the biggest win of his storied career!

Congrats to longtime Ragged Mountain friend Sean Stanford on conquering the legendary Western States 100… one of the most grueling ultras in the world! And Sean nailed the iconic event under 24 hours!
