Decorating and cleaning today and dreaming of spending the holidays in a tropical spot. YOU GUYS WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING?!?!

2020 has been a bit less than what most of us anticipated and there have been a lot of setbacks and tragedies but happy things have been happening lately and I am here to tell you about one of them!

When Covid hit and the world shut down, my event planning business future was hanging in the balance so I turned to something as a creative outlet that I had once been so enthralled in many many years ago: painting.

After drowning my sorrow in tubes of oil paint and creating beauty on canvas once again I realized that it was a huge part of my life that had been missing!

Fast forward a few months and I still love to paint to deal with my anxiety about the world, share my love of favorite travel destinations (especially since I’m grounded for the foreseeable future) and share a little bit of my brain with the world.

Somehow, my tiny paintings have been selected out of so many incredibly talented people and I am an official featured shop on gift guide!!! When I say it is an honor and I am beyond myself I truly mean it. What an incredible position to be in nestled amongst so many incredible creatives and what a great reminder to stand behind small business this holiday season! A little late night inspiration struck after outdoor movie night. Who knew a suspenseful movie would get my heart racing so much I literally needed an activity and a long hot shower to come down.

Painting a mini of our favorite picnic spot was cathartic enough to shake most of the post thriller jitters but I still feel like I should’ve had a quick nip of bourbon to seal the deal.

Working on a large scale piece today (4ftx5ft) and unfortunately momma woke up from her nap to come have a little taste. Fortunately my paints are mostly non-toxic but it had the unfortunate after effect of giving her a mustard colored mustache and then licking Smalls and giving her some mustard spots. 😂 @ Charlottesville, Virginia
