It's honestly shocking how long Pampers has been able to get away with this. The good news is that you don't have to wait a single day to start potty-training! Cultures all over the world start pottying their babies as young as birth using a method called Elimination Communication. This was the norm prior to disposable diapers!

If you'd like to avoid unnecessary diaper rash, blowouts, and potty-training drama, comment SHOW ME. I'd love to DM you my FREE starter guide, which has helped hundreds of parents navigate EC from as young as birth ❤️

*Sources for my claims:

-New York Times, 1999 cites an average potty-training age of 18 months prior to disposable diapers.
-Multiple scientific studies have found that delaying potty-training risks bladder & bowel dysfunction and bedwetting past age five. Full source list included in my book linked in my bio.

Wait til you see how the diaper comes off 👀 😂

This is why I started making Flappy-Nappies, because normal cloth diapers involved approximately 1,000 snaps, folds, and layers and all 3 of my babies were ninja escape artists 🥲

Flappy-Nappies are specifically designed for Elimination Communication—see how it pops open to go potty? Easy!

Once you get used to these, regular diapers feel… unnecessarily complicated 😂

For real though… if you know your baby is p**ping, why not hold her over the toilet? Why watch her make a mess that you have to then clean up??

It can be a wild concept when you first hear of it, but babies don’t like to be soiled any more than we like cleaning it. And once you start pottying your baby, you’ll be amazed at how easy it actually is!

Which is it, Karen? Am I rushing her to grow up or failing to foster independence? I guess moms can’t win either way 🤷‍♀️

Fun fact: All 3 of my babies were totally potty trained, day AND night, before they slept through the night 🤯

They were also diaper-free before they weaned. So I guess pottying my babies *didn’t* force them to grow up too fast after all 😂

What came first for your baby? Potty-training or sleeping through the night? Let me know in the comments 👇

A “potty pause” during Elimination Communication is any kind of setback to your potty progress.

It might look like your baby suddenly resisting potty time. Or it might just feel like you’ve fallen out of sync and aren’t catching anything.

Either way, you are NOT failing! Potty pauses are extremely common, especially right around 6-8 months and again around 12 months. They’re also very solvable!

I go over the top reasons for why potty pauses happen and my best solutions for overcoming them in my full YouTube tutorial. Comment WATCH IT if you’d like me to DM you the link so you can start watching immediately ❤️

“You’re only training yourself” —> correct. Because potty training requires parental attention no matter when you begin, and babies learn incredibly fast.

“Let them be babies” —> this doesn’t stop babies from being babies. It does reduce discomfort and fussiness from being soiled, though.

“Babies have no control over bladder/bowels” —> they do. And even if they didn’t, this still saves a diaper from the trash.

“You could just use cloth diapers”—> we do. But cloth diapers require water & resources to launder and this helps reduce that consumption.

I’ve literally never heard a reason good enough to justify billions of tons of diaper waste that takes 500+ years to decompose.

If you want to start cutting down your diaper use and increase bonding with your baby, comment SHOW ME and I’ll DM you my free starter guide for Elimination Communication and cloth diapers. I pottied and cloth diapered all 3 babies from birth and have helped hundreds of other parents do the same ❤️

Ok dads are you ready for the ultimate parenting hack? You don’t need to change your baby’s diapers…. If your baby doesn’t go in them 😉 🤔

Next time you’re on diaper duty and notice that “p**p face”, whip off the diaper and set baby on the potty! You’ll be amazed at how much easier it is stop clean up after (especially if you set your baby on the toilet 🙌)

Most parents are buying twice as many diapers as they really need (at least). Why?

They don’t know that potty training can begin at birth, and most babies can be fully “p**p trained” by 3 months old.

They don’t know that babies as young as 6 months can sign “potty” and babies as young as one year old can be fully diaper-free.

They don’t know that waiting for “readiness” is not rooted in science, but is actually a disposable diaper marketing strategy disguised as medical advice.

If you didn’t know these things, don’t worry! It’s never too late (or too early) to start the potty. The only thing that changes is your approach: Different ages require different strategies, and I outline how to begin at any age in my free starter guide. Comment SHOW ME if you’d like the link 🫶 I’ve helped hundreds of other parents start saving money and using fewer diapers, and I can’t wait to help you too!

Every time your baby p**ps in a diaper, you’re teaching him to p**p in diapers. Even *one* pottytunity a day as an infant is enough to start learning where p*e and p**p belong!

But the longer potty training is avoided, the more attached toddlers get to diapers. And potty training only gets harder.

I’ve helped hundreds of parents navigate Elimination Communication over the past decade, even as little as once a day! If you want to learn how easy it can be, comment SHOW ME and I’ll DM my proven starter guide straight to your inbox 🫶
