A little spooky. A lot sentimental. 👻🎃

This one was such a special paint-over project for a repeat client who follows my HooNew upcycling adventures.

The original tree painting was painted by her dad when he was 80 years old. ❤️ She brought it to me with a fun idea—to give his painting a spooky Halloween makeover while keeping the original piece at its heart.

I started with a dark color wash, then transformed the tree with layers of black and white highlights, added the shadowy ground, a moon, a couple of friendly ghosts and, of course, some pumpkins. 🎃👻🌙

I love that this painting now holds two stories—the story of a father who painted this tree at 80, and the story of a daughter who gave it a new life with one of her favorite themes. 🖤

That’s one of my favorite things about upcycling art… sometimes you don’t have to replace the old—you just have to give it a new chapter.

From family keepsake to Halloween favorite. 🖤🎃

I got several cute things here including the craft storage that I kept going back to for only $14 and the beautiful white fur collar at the end. Also only $14 😍

✨ Some things are just too special to replace.

This adorable 1970s Schwinn banana seat bike belongs to my brother-in-law. He got it when he was just 3 years old, and thanks to his mom, it’s still rolling today.

Every one of her grandchildren learned to ride this little bike, and now her great-grandchildren are carrying on the tradition.

A vintage bicycle… generations of memories… and proof that some treasures only become more valuable with time. ❤️🚲

It’s actually a 1960’s vintage mod style Belding camera case. California saddle leather and tweed. Leather is so soft. I’m loving it!

Our first Christmas party was December 20th. I set the table with bright red, green, and cream placemats, a coordinating runner, and gold chargers. Brass candlesticks with metallic gold candles, red and green glass Christmas trees, and special framed Santa photos and ornaments for the kids and grandkids made it extra meaningful. The buffet was dressed with silver candlesticks, red and green candles, silver glass trees, sweet reindeer, and seasonal greenery. I finished the room with a vintage Merry Christmas sign and handmade chain-link garlands I upcycled with last year’s used red velvet ribbon. I loved it!

I kept everything the same for our Christmas Eve celebration with my sister, niece, and nephews.

January 10th was our final Christmas gathering of the season with my family. Getting everyone together in December is hard, so we now celebrate in January—less stress and I get to keep my Christmas up longer 🤗🎄

For this celebration, I rearranged the décor: silver glass trees and brass candlesticks on the table, a red runner, and classic plaid placemats. The red and green glass trees moved to the buffet alongside the silver candlesticks, reindeer, and candles, plus a handmade art piece from my daughter and grandsons. The red velvet garland stayed, and I added a dessert table with vintage glass pedestals, tiered platers, and silverware holders. I loved getting to use and enjoy every piece of my décor this year!
