Five years of Pinsnickety started with two sisters who were a little stir crazy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Could they turn a fun idea into a real business? Come behind the scenes with us for five years of fun.
Number pins were a new idea, so we designed everything from scratch. We wanted our packaging card to have a show number so people knew what the pins were for. This was an early, terrible sketch. But what number?
We decided on 27, the route number right near where we grew up riding together.
We were so excited when our first order of 12 designs arrived!
A customer asked us if we could make a custom pin for their horse—known as the “Flying Bagel.” We loved the idea! Now we make custom pins and charms for lots of top barns, teams, and horse shows!
Our first ever show sponsorship was for the US Equestrian Prix des States Junior Jumper championships at Harrisburg. Every zone team got matching pins. It was such a thrill to pack it up.
And even more exciting to see top riders wearing our pins for the first time! Since then, we’ve sponsored prizes for shows around the county.
And partnered with great organizations like the North American League to make custom prizes for championship events. (That’s Margot on the left.)
We started with 12 designs…
Now we have more than 40!
Too many to fit in one place. And we have matching clip charms and bridle charms too.
We had to learn how to become photographers. (Here’s Meredith getting the ‘gram.)
…and photo editors.
Some of our photo shoot ideas had to be abandoned. 😂
In 2024, numerous Olympians wore our pins on the sport’s biggest stage. We were incredibly proud and honored.
We’ve been lucky to partner with amazing equestrian brands over the years, including the great Essex Classics...
And this partnership was with the amazing Veltri Sport, a company founded around the same time as us. (Happy anniversary Lisa!)
Tack stores have also been incredible partners. We can believe how many have embraced our brand and helped us along the way.
We took our box of pins and charms on the road to show it to stores. Many retailers will recognize this sight.
We also ship directly to customers who don't have a tack store nearby. In the early days, we owed a lot of thanks to our local mail carriers.
Thanks so much to all of you for supporting our brand for five years. Here's to the next five! 🥂
