Miracles still happen here. 🙏🇻🇪
A month or so ago, the cottage recieved a donation of made up bags of personals. Each bag was packed with about 15 items that we use everyday. Shampoo, soap, toothbrush, etc. We thought they were wonderful to have & have used some for homeless, recovery homes, folks starting over & more. A week later, our sister building & founder A Place of Miracles Cafe send some of their overflow of prepackaged personals & extra bomba socks! We still had many to go through when Backpacks for the Homeless/RVA shared some overflow of their personals bags with us. We work closely together so since we had an abundance at this point, we knew Earnie Taylor & we could swap out where the other was lacking if need be. Still, I thought, Lord... this is alot of personals. Something is up. About a week later, Awaken Church RVA shared a truckload of crates with us from their shower truck. A couple of those crates were filled with prepackaged bags of personals. I knew God had a plan.
Today was that day.
A neighbor that lives near the cottage had stopped me yesterday morning to tell me of the 2 back to back earthquakes that hit Venezuela on Wednesday June 24th. The 2nd was the strongest one in over a century. Over 1,400 have passed on. Thousands are missing, over 12,000 have been misplaced due to the damage. My heart is aching. PRAY for Venezuela.
Today, on our normally closed day, we were there right at an extra opening as the man came back & told us of how communities were working together to get items sent over & they were packing trucks TODAY. He asked could we contribute. We are so thankful that GOD ALLOWED us to contribute! We are so thankful that GOD has sent the DONORS & donations to contribute!!
"That little miracle place" as I have heard us called was used MIGHTILY today & always I believe.
Huge shoutout to every volunteer & donor who is involved with A Place of Miracles Clothes Cottage . We had 8crates & 10 clothing bags from our overflow packed withen 2 hours while working around serving the other shoppers that came in to shop.
There is NO WAY that is NOTHING BUT GOD.
I went to a drop location where the community was working feverishly together to repack everything, get it ready for shipping, & keep it covered in case of rain. The women & children chatting happily while sounds of ripping masking tape filled the household that had the front room cleared just to participate in this mission.
It was both a beautiful & heartwrenching day.
Deuteronomy 10: 18-19 "He administers justice for the fatherless & the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food & clothing"
"Therefore, love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt."
