It’s hard to find the right words when someone we knew and cared about is no longer here.
I’ve been struggling with the idea of sharing this news with you all. In the midst of my own feelings, I grabbed the store phone and curled up in the office lounge chair, just as I’ve seen Brooke do a hundred times. I scrolled back to 2023 and found these “vlogs” that she made, and I began laughing through my tears.
Brooke was someone who was truly special to us. She was funny, smart, creative, and wonderfully herself. She had a beautiful artistic spirit that came through in so many ways. She was always adding a new ring to her stack, showing up to work in the coolest pair of boho pants, forever changing her hair color and wise beyond her years. She was in love with photography, obsessed with music festivals, and always looking for her next trip to the beach.
We feel incredibly lucky to have known Brooke and to have shared a part of her journey. She left an impression on the people in our community, and that won’t be forgotten. Her laugh, her sense of humor, her creativity, her individuality—those are the pieces of her we’ll carry with us.
Our thoughts are with Brooke’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
