Big news about the future of Hemlock and Hyde
If you've been here a while you may have noticed the Order Weeks are different now.
Logistically we had to make a change in order to do the in-person shows that we did this Spring. The short story is, as you know you could sign up to be notified when Order Week began on each product page. Turning the website back on for each of the shows would have created an automatic notification for those days and a lot of confusion. So we made May our last official Order Week.
That being said, we'll be moving forward with rolling lead times. Our goal is to keep it at 6ish weeks from order date (for non pre-orders) until your order ships but it may be a bit longer or shorter depending on how this goes. We'll give production updates to keep you informed. Newsletter subscribers will still be First in Line for all new designs and Color additions.
Leanne has at least one bag design idea she wants to get in for Autumn and a possibility of a Mini version of an existing design and one other design update.
Even though we didn't announce this change to Order Week we saw quite the unexpected uptick in our May orders many of which were new to us. So, Say farewell to order weeks as you knew them.
This will also make some changes for this upcoming holiday season, so our cut-off date may look different this year as we adjust.
Other changes we anticipate include a shakeup like streamlining the designs we're offering as we've talked about on our live stream. This means saying goodbye to some that have been around awhile. We removed 2 designs already in May from the lined and bridle collection with an eye on at least one more design to be discontinued.
Looking toward 2027 (our 10th year!) and beyond we are positioning ourselves to find a new larger space. This will accommodate additional dedicated workstation. For example our edge paint (which we love) takes a long time to dry. Having a painting and drying station will allow us to move easier between batches instead of watching paint dry🤣. We're on a loose timeline because finding just the right place is important to us. We'll let you know more as we make final decisions.
