Do you know what microplastics are?
They are 5mm in length or smaller plastics. These are the result of weathering of bigger plastics.
If you have synthetic textiles, you are releasing microplastics into our waterways every time you wash them.
Since they are so small, they do not get filtered in our water treatment faculties. They end up in our lakes, rivers & oceans.
This disrupts delicate eco systems and sea animals digestive systems. Chemicals from microplastics are even found in their bloodstreams.
Company’s should rethink about using and selling synthetic materials. As well as consumers, we need to be more mindful when purchasing these type of products.
