Celebrating 3 years of ZIAIRE! 💙
In March, ZIAIRE turned 3. If I’m being honest, I’ve been sitting with that because the person that you have to become is harder than building the business itself. There were moments I questioned myself. Moments I had to start over, pivot, and push through grief with nothing but faith and vision.
Designing is something that I knew I wanted to do since I was 7. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design, it really hit me that putting your work out for the world to perceive can be daunting. But I knew I had to create pieces that meant something. Pieces that could be worn more than one way, and loved longer.
For most African-Americans you’re taught your history here begins with slavery. Our story goes far beyond that. Once I discovered my ancestry I found connection with my Nigerian and Congolese origins. I found my niche. My love for bold colors, purposeful fashion, and culture all tied into one.
To every person and brand who supported, shopped, shared, or believed in ZIAIRE. Thank you. You are part of this story.
ZIAIRE is still growing. Still evolving. Still becoming everything I dreamed about as that little girl.
Follow the journey ✨
