I don’t come on this app often lately, but I have something to say now:
It’s sad to see so many of the people on my friends lists so blinded. People I went to high school with and parents of daughters. Adults I looked up to as a child. It’s frightening. Do you know what you’ve done? Please take a moment and reflect on your choices…
This is a bigger deal than just choosing a president or state leaders. These people have the power to put policies into place that will destroy any potential for a better country. Do you have any compassion for anyone besides yourself and your circle? Do you want your kids to breathe fresh air? Be able to swim in the ocean?… All for the empty promise of “more money in your pocket”? If you’re not already upper middle class and believe that will happen, you’re in for a rude awakening. They don’t care about you or your family. They’re using your vote to control you and get richer doing it. I know it’s worthless to try and convince anyone here, so instead I’ll save the rest of my breath to ask you this:
PLEASE remove me as a friend if you and I are not aligned. Now, for those of you saying “we can still be friends with different opinions” just shut up. These aren’t opinions we’re fighting over. These are values. This isn’t a difference of opinion in music taste. This is a power struggle to control other people. This is hate. This is racism. The people you’re hurting are already struggling. What if you were an immigrant coming here to save your family? What if you were gay? What if you were black/native/latino and people were always treating you differently? A lot of you never left your small town and it shows. A lot of you have never TRUELY struggled.
I’m going through and deleting people as I see their true colors come out. WE ARE NOT FRIENDS. I do hope that most of you grow and change, and see your mistake. Perhaps at that point we can be friends again. When I first left my hometown I had some of these views imprinted on me. It took hurting some people to realize how wrong I was. For that, I am forever sorry and hope that my words and actions now show up for marginalized groups.
For those of you that feel me or are scared for what is to come, please hold on to hope. We have a hard road ahead, but together we can fight for love, safety, and basic human rights. 🫶
