Buy and sell quality vintage clothing and accessories from the 1490s to the 1990s. Hello Vintage promotes sustainable fashion by giving new life to old clothes.
With a special interest in their context in fashion history, we take clothing that is at least 20 years old, fix it up, and give it a new home with someone who will cherish it. From well-loved day dresses and disco shirts to once-in-a-lifetime tuxedos and ballgowns to museum-quality antique and rare pieces, we have it all, and we can't wait to show you!

Hello! My name is Carolyn, and I am the owner of Hello Vintage. Hello Vintage began as a side hustle while I was in college as a way of learning more about fashion history. I would search for old clothes, learn as much as I could about them, then sell them so they could find a new home. Because I am such a fashion history nerd, I became addicted to vintage clothing. After graduating university, I was faced with either getting a job in the โreal worldโ or taking a risk and starting my own store. Thankfully, I chose the latter option and Hello Vintage was born.
The Hello Vintage store began as a small pop-up shop in Berkeley, then a few months later moved into our current location at 5488 College Ave in Oakland, CA. From the start, I wanted to focus on finding quality clothing, giving the clothing context, and promoting sustainable fashion through re-using existing garments.
Quality clothing means clothing that is made to last, as opposed to much of todayโs cheaply made fast fashion pieces. The pieces in Hello Vintage have stood the test of time, and can continue to be worn again and again.
Giving context to clothing involves researching each garment to accurately describe what it is and when it is from. All of our item tags are handwritten with the decade it was made, the description of the fabrics and patterns, and any other relevant information, like the provenance or an interesting fact.
Promoting sustainable fashion is so important. Every piece that is sold in our store is one less garment thrown into a landfill or left unworn in a closet. We do our part to fix up pieces that need a bit of restoration as much as possible, so that all pieces are able to be worn right out the door. This adds to the quality and value of each piece, and we are proud of the heart and soul that goes into each and every garment we sell.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about Hello Vintage, feel free to visit, call or e-mail us any time we are open. Thank you for reading our story and have a wonderful day :)
