Transit Tees takes visuals from Chicago's metropolitan landscapes and transforms them into fasionable artwork. The brand was founded in 2001 by Tim Gillengerten, a creative director who aspired to build an apparel line that reinterprets subway maps, street signs, city seals and flags in ways that the public had never seen before. We’ve slowly been exploring our new HQ neighborhood in the Fulton District. While walking around, we found the “bridge to nowhere” 👻

It was originally built in 1895 as a rapid transit link, but eventually was abandoned in 1951 along with all adjacent elevated structures north of Lake Street by 1966.

What a cool piece of Chicago history we wouldn’t have otherwise known! Goes to show you there will always be parts of the city you haven’t explored yet 😉
