Loukoumaki’s purpose in the universe is to say no to the status quo! Loukoumaki wants you to embrace your inner child and let it all out. Cook up some bad puns and proudly serve them. Dance in your living room. Laugh out loud at your own jokes. These things are Loukoumaki. There is some sort of inexplicable genetic obligation for people of Greek descent to proclaim to the world they are Greek. Aft

er the birth of my nephew, I looked for some cute Greek baby gifts to fulfill this need and wouldfit my style. It was quickly evident there were no such things! When it was my turn to populate the earth with more Greek babies, the quest for these things resumed. Perhaps it was the drive of every Greek person to carry on the tradition of self-employment, but those initial fruitless searches were one of the many inspirations to start Loukoumaki. With some gentle pushing and prodding by friends and family, and a giant leap of faith, I decided to put my art degree and years of creating for other people to good use. As if it wasn’t enough to be born Greek and have such a rich culture to draw from, I am surrounded with the cutest, craziest, funniest, silliest muses to inspire me on a daily basis—my own children and beloved nieces and nephew. Loukoumaki is a woman-owned small business based in Chicago.

I’m still catching up with posting here! Last weekend I was at our church festival. Sold a bunch of stuff (THANK YOU!!!! ❤️❤️❤️) and was able to catch up with some friends. It’s always a good time! Look at the amazing things you can buy THIS weekend at the Edgewater Greek Festival at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, Chicago (Hollywood and Sheridan). Good food and handmade pastries for sale. Live music, and a performance by Orpheus Hellenic Folklore Society on Sunday. Come find me and some other vendors inside the air conditioned gymnasium. See ya!
