Chicago has and always will be a city of a thousand neighborhoods. Each area has its own feel, its own version of life in this city. Andersonville is like a small town within Chicago, and we’ve been wanting to spotlight more local businesses here in whatever way we can.
Folk has the *perfect* blend of handmade, creative, vintage, and what feels like true heirloom goods. Their space is easy, and stunning, and quite honestly the background of almost every video from our mini photoshoot there has a Mata team member shopping in the background. We couldn’t not. There’s so much to see, and this was all before they opened up their cafe space within the store!
If you’re someone who’s looking to slow down, enjoy your local community, shop vintage pieces with a story and a lifetime behind them, or delight in an intentional and delicious brewed drink, then stop by Folk. If you’re someone looking for natural window light so nice that strangers on the internet might think you’re actually AI (like what actually happened with this first pic of Stephanie N - style & sewing!), then stop by Folk. Or if you just are in the neighborhood and need to use a bathroom, they’re very okay with that and theirs is so pretty!
