Couldn’t be more true. Budgets are a mother F*cker. No room for treatment when toys and show are more important.

I'm honoured and humbled to have been receiving the comments, messages and support from each and every one of you. I hear all your stories, and pain, the sadness, the grief and the feeling of being let down.

So I'm going to start a series of dedicating posts to quotes of messages, stories, the good and bad that I receive from each of you. My inbox is open. I read every message. I respond to all (or most, if I missed one, please just send another). All posts will be anonymous.

So here is begins:

"I've run into burning buildings, shootings, and stabbings. I've helped save lives, not for medals, not for headlines, but because it's the job. All I ever asked in return was simple: a service that stood by me the way I stood by everyone else, one that didn't disappear the moment I looked broken and unuseful.
There was a point where it felt like the only way my family or I could get support was if I "ended" myself. That maybe then, someone would notice. Maybe then, someone would see how real the struggle actually was. No first responder should have to die to earn support.
That's not just my story. It's happening across services, across ranks, across this entire profession — and too many of us only find out the support we were promised was never really there, right when we need it most."

I have pulled dead, mangled bodies from cars.

I have lied to people as they were dying.

I said you are going to be fine as I held their hand and watched the life fade out.

I have held dying babies. Bought lunch for people who were mentally ill and haven't eaten in a while.

I have had people try to stab me. Fought with men trying to shoot me.
I've been attacked by women while I was arresting their husband who had just severely beat them.

I have held towels on bullet wounds.
Done CPR when I knew it wouldn't help just to make family members feel better.

I have torn down doors, fought in drug houses. Chased fugitives through the woods.

I have been in high-speed car chases.
Foot chases across an interstate during rush hour traffic.
I have been in crashes. Been squeezing the trigger about to kill a man when they came to their senses and stopped. Waded through large angry crowds by myself.

Drove like a madman to help a fellow officer. Let little kids who don't have much sit in my patrol car and pretend they are a cop for their birthday.

I have taken a lot of people to jail. Given many breaks. Prayed for people I don't even know. Yes, and at times I have been "violent" when I had to be. I have been kind when I could.

I admit I have driven to some dark place and cried by myself when I was overwhelmed.

I have missed Christmas and other holidays more than I wanted to.

Every cop I know has done all these things and more for lousy pay, exhausting hours, and a short life expectancy.

We don't want your pity, I don't even ask for your respect. Just let us do our jobs without killing us.

Every day, first responders face battles the public rarely sees, nor understands — not just on the streets, but within themselves and within their respective agencies and areas.

“Some Dumb Cop” isn’t about mockery; it’s about owning the title, breaking the silence, and showing that strength includes vulnerability and PTSD & CPTSD Recovery.

The word STIGMA has held too much power for too long. It’s time to redefine it:
Support. Talk. Include. Grow. Move. Act.

This message isn’t just for First Responders — it’s for anyone carrying invisible weight. When we speak openly, we lead boldly. When we lead boldly, we heal collectively. A better Quality of LIFE is in your future.

Break the STIGMA.
