ome at 4432 N. Kedzie in the Albany Park neighborhood. This allows us to offer community workshops, as well as have a retail area filled with our goods and other letterpress artist goods, vintage finds, and stationery type products. favorite goods are handmade with our small but caring staff & the occasional help (but constant support) from friends & family. Be it old or new, labelmaker, typewriter, computer or printing press, nothing makes Amber happier than creating. We hope to see you soon!

We believe in the magic of snail mail and that a long distance warm fuzzy can change someone’s day or maybe even their life. 💌 Thursday, June 2nd come sit with neighbors, type a letter, jot a note, write a postcard and share a warm fuzzy.

Hey letterpress fans! It’s been a minute since I’ve introduced myself. I’m Amber Favorite, the “a.” in a. favorite design (not pronounced “uh” favorite design). And yes, that is my real name thanks to Mr. Favorite. I started this letterpress journey in 2004 when I took a community letterpress class at my alma mater Columbia College of Chicago. I have a background in graphic design and was immediately smitten the moment I walked into the print shop and smelled the ink, saw the antique equipment and all the banks of type. I started spending every day off volunteering in the print shop and trading my personal time for print time. I designed and letterpress printed a line of greeting cards that I sold at crafts fairs and art markets. It grew from a part-time passion to full time career. I have many titles and hobbies other than a. favorite design owner. I’m a snail mail enthusiast, live music lover, dog mom, wife of , player, art admirer, Chicagoan, daughter, collector, vintage treasure hunter, breast cancer survivor, romantic, lover of the moon, graphic designer, meditation addict and friend to many. I’m thankful you’re here and along for the journey with me. And thanks for attending my AmberTalk.

Many years ago I came across these amazing parts bags. They were too cool to pass up. These vintage cuties were once used to mail parts and hardware. Each part bag is sewn to a manila envelope for your letter or invoice. These cuties are available in shop.

We took a lil roadtrip last weekend to find a new antique piece for the shop. It’s a beaut and fits in perfectly. 60 drawers of possibility!
