Dusters, shearling, suede, cashmere, loafers, mules, boots… after a summer of barely-there dressing, I’m ready for layers again.

The long and short of it? I’ve always loved a good duster.

Silk, jacquard, sheer or sweeping, it’s the layer that does the heavy lifting while everything underneath gets to stay beautifully simple.

A white tank. Denim. A sandal. Then add something with a little movement, drama and presence.

Summer may be slipping away, but the duster is coming with us.

Long story short—we’re dusting summer.

The season’s lightest layer is coming with us into fall. Silk, satin, sheer or sweeping, the duster turns the simplest uniform into a whole plot.

White tank. Denim. Sandal. Add one very long layer with main-character energy and call it dressed.

Sometimes the third piece is the whole story.
