Running a custom design business has taught me that being excited about a customer’s idea and actually beginning the design process have to be two separate things.
As soon as someone sends me an idea, my creative side immediately kicks in. I start thinking about the fonts, colors, layout, images, and all the details that could bring that idea together. In the past, I would get so excited that I’d start creating before the order was officially placed.
Unfortunately, I’ve spent hours creating multiple designs, making changes, and perfecting artwork for people who later changed their minds—or took the designs I created and decided to go somewhere else. Because of that, I’ve had to make some changes to how I handle custom orders.
Custom DTF designs range from $15 to $25, depending on the complexity of the design and the number of changes or revisions requested.
Payment is required upfront before I begin any custom design work.
The design fee covers the time and work that goes into creating your artwork, making revisions, preparing the design for printing, and making sure the finished product is something you’re happy with.
Once your design is completed, you will also receive the finished image file to keep.
Creating a custom design takes time, creativity, and attention to detail. I truly enjoy taking someone’s vision and turning it into something unique, but I also have to value the time and work I put into every design.
Moving forward, my policy is simple: payment must be received before designing begins.
