This week is World Breastfeeding Week. If you've had breast cancer surgery, it's natural to have questions about breastfeeding. The encouraging news is that many women can breastfeed after treatment, and with the right support, you can explore the feeding options that work best for you and your baby.

After a lumpectomy, breastfeeding is often possible, although milk production in the treated breast may vary.

After a single mastectomy, many mothers successfully breastfeed using their remaining breast, which can often provide all the milk their baby needs.

Speaking with your healthcare team and a lactation consultant during pregnancy can help you feel informed, prepared, and supported.
