This one started as a sewing challenge and ended up being the project that pulled me back into my creativity.

I picked up Minerva’s exclusive rainbow checkered print in their bamboo poplin, and this fabric surprised me. It arrived drapier than I expected, with a hand that reminded me of a vintage sand washed rayon, just a touch thicker. I knew right away it was asking to be something different.

So I went with a jumpsuit pattern by my first jumpsuit ever), translated the Spanish instructions with a little Google Translate help, and got to work on my vintage Bernina 940. Omitted the back pockets because that shifty checker was not going to cooperate. Added some elastic on top of the drawstring. The result gave me that loungy beach pajama vibe I can actually wear out.
