Our sweet, little, grandaughter, Ella-Grace, (who also happens to be one of our favorite models) is having a very rough summer so far. We initially thought that Ella had a pulled muscle, or had sprained her knee when she began complaining that her leg hurt. There were no bruises or cuts that were noticeable. We took her to an orthopedic urgent care for Xrays. They saw nothing wrong and sent us home. The next day, Ella was in a horrible amount of pain so after a telehealth chat with Ella's pediatrician, my daughter, Cadence, was advised to take Ella to Duke Pediatric Emergency Room. After that, things moved fast. Ella was admitted due to high fever and high inflammation markers, leading to many, many tests, MRIs, etc., with an eventual diagnosis of MRSA Staphyloococcus Aureus (a MRSA bone infection) in her tibia. She has now been hospitalized for 6 days.
