The 21st Annual Craft Expo is Saturday! Here are some helpful tips to make your day of shopping a fun experience!
There will be yellow signs along the streets in town to guide you to the school.
Show is open 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Admission is Free.
The busiest time is from 9:00 to noon. If you want to avoid the large crowd, we suggest coming late morning, or in the afternoon. Hint: Shop downtown first, then grab the shuttle to the school!
Again this year we have a third shopping area with nearly 20 vendors at Westside Assisted Living Suites, in their event space.
We suggest riding the free shuttle bus that is running continuously from 9AM to 3:00 PM. The stop at the school is on the west end, just past the vendors along the main sidewalk. Downtown you can hop on or off in the parking lot behind Iowa State Bank. At Westside Assisted Living, the stop is in the south parking lot. There will be signs at all three locations.
Parking is free. There will be police officers and parking attendants to help guide you to a spot in the large lot on the east side of the school until it fills up. Please note that we do block some streets to funnel all incoming traffic for parking to one parking lot entrance. There will be new signs to guide you. Spaces along the front sidewalk of the school are reserved for handicapped parking.
There is plenty of street parking south and west of the school, and lots of parking downtown, but they will fill up.
There are two gyms filled with vendors at the school complex. 1. The large east gym, and 2. the smaller west gym and lunchroom. The two areas are not connected indoors, so you will need to follow the sidewalk on the south side of the school that connects them. There will be signs to guide you, plus the sidewalk is lined with outdoor vendors!
At the school, there will be food vendors indoors and outdoors, and bake sales selling take-home items. There is a food stand in the front lobby of the east gym, with table seating.
Make sure you plan time to head downtown and to Westside Assisted Living (4 blocks west of downtown)! There are vendors in front of stores, at Pioneer Park near the popcorn stand, and some indoors, so watch for signs! Some fun shopping can be found at KJ Design Boutique and Clothing Company, Butler County State Bank Antiques, River Valley Fabrics quilt shop and gifts, and Orly's Locker has a wide variety of meats and cheeses to take home. You will find places to grab drinks and food, and sit down for a break. Pioneer's Post Coffee Shop, Doc's, Pete & Shorty's, and The Honkytonk….a bar and event venue featuring brick oven pizza and live music in the afternoon. . A church is serving a drive thru meal-in-a-bag, featuring a pork burger at the Amvet Hall as well. There will also be a couple of food trucks with wine slushies and some breakfast and lunch options.
A 24 Hour ATM is located downtown at Iowa State Bank, in the front lobby. Some of the vendors accept credit cards, but not all, so remember, cash is king!
The Country Cottage is another fun destination, located only a few minutes NE of Clarksville. Just watch for signs north of town on 188. They also have a page, as do many of the boutiques and shops downtown.
We hope this helps make your day of shopping a little better! It will be a fun day to get ready for the upcoming holidays at the Craft Expo!
