I don’t know if anyone else deals with this, but I’m hoping the barcode system I’m about to put in place will finally tame the chaos. This post is a little long, but maybe it’ll help someone down the road.
I’ve technically had my eBay account since 2017, but I was a “periodic seller” at best. Then in April 2025, I got tired of watching everyone else in reels having fun flipping items. So I started small — literally one drawer. I listed everything and waited. It felt like watching water boil.
I kept watching more reels, learning from other resellers, and slowly leveling up. I bought poly mailers, clear cellophane bags, started researching prices, learned Google Lens, and adapted my game. And it worked — I started selling more and more.
Fast forward to October 2026. A house next to my parents became available, and I decided it was time to live my own version of “Everybody Loves Raymond.” My parents are aging, and it’s my turn to step up in a different way.
Moving while keeping a store open was… a nightmare. But I was determined. Unfortunately, the listing app I was using had other plans. After I sold items, packed them, and shipped them, the app relisted them. I had to drop that company immediately. A friend finally convinced me it was time for Nifty.
This week, I’ve been going through my inventory — not just putting everything back in numerical order, but pulling every package that isn’t currently listed anywhere.
The picture below shows what I’ve pulled so far. Some people might see a giant chore. I see opportunity. I get to clean up, tighten my system, and rediscover inventory I already paid for. Potential profit just sitting there waiting for me.
I learned so much last year, and I’m excited to learn even more.
Keep thrifting, my friends — the hustle is real, but the payoff is worth it.

It's amazing the difference one small step can make. Yes, I waterproof the shoes that I sell so that they last longer. Is this an extra cost. Absolutely. Boot Breakdown. I found this gorgeous pair of Timberland boots and knew that these had to come home with us. They have great tread, no heel drag, and I used Icy Kicks to clean, waterproof, and refresh them. Footwear are still one of my favorite flips. What brands of boots do you source??????

Only supposed to be 89 here today. But the humidity is almost 100%. How hot is it where you are and what are you doing to keep cool????
