Vintage Recipe 🥣. “Simple Cobbler”

from The Sango Side booth-Gail. This was my grandmother’s recipe ❤️

1/2 Cup butter
1 Cup sugar
1 Cup Self-rising flour
3/4 Cup Milk (I use 1% or fat free) but any will do
Cinnamon
1- #2 can fruit or 2 cups fresh fruit

Bake 350 for 45 minutes

I usually use a big can of sliced peaches. Put butter in casserole dish 9x13 and melt in oven about 5-10 mins (keep checking). Mix milk, sugar and flour in mixing bowl. Take out hot dish from oven and be sure butter is covered on all of bottom, pour flour mixture around in dish to cover bottom. Add your fruit evenly around, then pour juice all around dish. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of mixture, I use cinnamon just for peaches.

There is just something about slicing into a fresh loaf when you get home. Toast it with a little butter, make the best grilled cheese you’ve had in a while, or pile it high with sandwich fixings for an easy dinner.

If you stop by and grab a loaf, I’d love to hear which one came home with you. Fresh bread has a way of disappearing fast around here.
