📚💕 A little throwback to 2023… and something that has always been close to my heart.
Many of you may not know that during my corporate career, I had the privilege of serving on our local United Way Board and being actively involved with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Anyone who knows me knows I have loved Dolly my entire life 😉 — but being able to help introduce families to this incredible program and get children signed up made me love what she stands for even more.
It meant so much to me that in 2023, we brought that same mission right here to Farm Girl with Curls Boutique, helping spread the word and encouraging families in our community to enroll their little ones. ❤️
Dolly created the Imagination Library in honor of her father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read or write. Her dream was simple but powerful: put books into the hands of children and help them fall in love with reading.
Today, children from birth to age five can receive a FREE, age-appropriate book mailed right to their home every month. 📖✨
So today, I’m giving all of you a little challenge:
Sign up your children. Tell your daughters, sons, friends and neighbors. Help another family get signed up. Share the program.
Something that costs a family nothing can give a child something priceless — a love of books, learning and dreaming. ❤️
And in the words that have become the heart of Dolly’s mission:
“Dream More, Learn More, Care More, Be More.” 🦋
