DIVIDED WE FAIL
They said:
“United we stand. Divided we fall.”
But they got one thing wrong.
The fall is not the tragedy.
We have already fallen.
Into debt. Into addiction. Into isolation. Into anger. Into fear. Into systems that profit from our division.
The fall happened long ago.
Yet here we are.
Still standing. Still fighting. Still searching for something better.
Because falling is not failure.
Every one falls before they walk. Every builder tears down before they rebuild. Every generation inherits the ruins of the last and decides what comes next.
The failure is not the fall.
The failure is looking at the person beside you and seeing an enemy instead of an ally.
The failure is accepting division as normal.
The failure is believing that our differences are greater than our shared struggles.
We do not need to agree on everything.
We do not need to share the same beliefs, backgrounds, politics, or paths.
But if we cannot remember our common humanity, then we have learned nothing from the fall.
A fractured people cannot heal. A divided people cannot build. A disconnected people cannot rise.
The question is no longer whether we have fallen.
The question is whether we are willing to rise together.
Because history is not written by those who never stumbled.
It is written by those who refused to stay down.
Falling is human.
Staying divided is a choice.
And every day we choose division,
we fail.
