Another beautiful day. Missed the storm this am but still great for wheat harvest. Tater Tot doing better. All is good. Our fiber was really good for 2025. Still skirting. Working on soaps. New fragrances this year. Like our choices. Briarbranchalpacas.com

A low humidity day again, thank goodness. Tater Tot was diagnosed with Coccidia and being treated. His poo was mushy so specimen taken to Tidewater and confirmed. He must have brought that parasite with him. No coccidia has ever been here before. Anyway, he is getting better and cooperative with his oral med. He is much better today. Skirting fiber and felting soaps today. Emily labeled the oatmeal goat milk soaps done last week and felting white tea mint today. Smells so clean and fresh. A fox got 2 of my chickens yesterday evening before I put them up for the night. Life is not fair at times. Briarbranchalpacas.com

It is a beautiful day today. We had a rain yesterday evening and no storm damage here. It was definitely hot and humid yesterday. We did some solar dyeing on Saturday and rinsed it out yesterday morning. The fiber from last year is yielding more. Skirting fiber is over half done and some are much dirtier than others but, oh well. Briarbranchalpacas.com

A much less humid Saturday. We got another light shower last night. The dry weather is good for wheat, barley and oats harvest. All chores done and barnyard clean. We believe in fly and parasite control. Herd health due next weekend for the alpacas. Sheep are doing great. I have been beating the snake the last 2 days so all eggs for me. Briarbranchalpacas.com

Happy Friday! Another warm one today. Pools are replenished and water troughs full. All animals are doing well. No snake yet but got all 4 eggs from this nest. Ha! We beat the snake. The little Shetlands are taking down. Tater Tot is slowly adjusting. He was placed on his butt, went in a trance and when put back on his feet, allowed petting and touching. Briarbranchalpacas.com

Today is Sunday. We are starting a new week. Enjoy a few pics taken this morning. We had to band our little Tater Tot after church. It was quick and painless. He is unsure what has happened. All are doing good. The grands seem happy and pleased. They are going to create a Shetland Manual this summer. They seemed receptive to the idea. All is good.
