The strawberry poison dart frog is one of the most astonishing examples of parental care in the animal world. Deep in the rainforests of Central America, this tiny amphibian performs a survival strategy so precise and coordinated that every step has to work together perfectly from the beginning.

Unlike most frogs that simply lay eggs in water and leave, the female strawberry poison dart frog lays her eggs on the damp rainforest floor. The father guards the eggs constantly, keeping them moist and protected. When the tadpoles hatch, they instinctively wriggle onto their mother’s back. She then carries each tiny tadpole individually through the rainforest, searching for rain-filled bromeliad plants high above the forest floor.

Inside these plants are tiny pools of water. The mother carefully places one tadpole into each separate pool so they will not compete or eat one another. Then comes perhaps the most incredible part: every few days she returns to each hidden location and feeds every tadpole with unfertilized eggs specially produced as food. She remembers multiple locations scattered throughout the forest and repeats this process for six to eight weeks until the tadpoles fully develop into frogs.

How could such a system evolve step by step? If the mother did not transport the tadpoles, they would die. If she did not feed them, they would starve. If the tadpoles lacked the instinct to climb onto her back, the cycle would fail immediately. Every behavior depends on the others already existing and functioning together.

This is not random chaos struggling toward order. It is coordinated design. The instincts, memory, timing, anatomy, and behavior all point to intentional creation. Even a tiny rainforest frog reflects astonishing wisdom and care from the Creator.

People buy lottery tickets hoping for a miracle while ignoring the greatest miracle in history.

Jesus Christ fulfilled prophecy after prophecy written centuries before He was born. Not vague predictions. Specific details about His birth, lineage, ministry, betrayal, death, and resurrection. The odds of just 8 prophecies being fulfilled by one man are beyond comprehension. Yet Jesus fulfilled over 300.

This was not chance. Not coincidence. Not mythology stitched together after the fact. It was history unfolding exactly as God declared it would.

A PETRIFIED FLOOD FOREST

In 2021, researchers excavating the famous petrified forest on the Greek island of Le**os uncovered one of the most remarkable fossils ever found there: a massive tree nearly 20 meters (65 feet) long preserved with its roots, trunk, and branches intact. It was the most complete petrified tree discovered on the island since excavations began in the 1990s. Scientists claim the forest formed 17–20 million years ago when volcanic eruptions supposedly buried the region in ash during the Miocene.

But the evidence preserved in the rock tells a different story.

The Le**os petrified forest contains hundreds of fossilized trees spread across thousands of acres, with many trunks stacked together in thick deposits while others remain standing upright. Some excavation sites contain more than a hundred logs piled together, often aligned in the same direction, indicating they were transported by powerful flows of water and sediment before burial. Entire trees were preserved with delicate structural details intact.

This kind of preservation requires rapid burial before decay can destroy the wood. In normal conditions trees quickly rot, break down, or are consumed by insects and microorganisms. Petrification occurs when buried wood is quickly sealed off and mineral-rich water replaces the organic material with stone while preserving the microscopic structure of the tree.

What we see on Le**os is exactly the kind of large-scale burial event the fossil record repeatedly shows: forests suddenly overwhelmed, ecosystems buried together, and organisms preserved before decomposition could occur.

Scientists interpret the site using radiometric dating of volcanic rock layers and place the forest millions of years in the past. But those ages depend on assumptions about initial conditions and the history of the rocks. From a biblical perspective, the evidence fits naturally within the catastrophic conditions of the global Flood described in Genesis.

Genesis 7:11 describes the moment the catastrophe began: “All the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.”* Such an event would have unleashed enormous geological forces, including volcanism, mudflows, and massive sediment transport capable of burying forests rapidly across large regions.

The petrified forest of Le**os stands as another snapshot of that catastrophe. Whole trees buried, ecosystems preserved, and a forest suddenly frozen in stone. The rocks still testify to a world overwhelmed by powerful forces exactly like those described in the Flood account of Scripture.

The animal, named Foskeia pelendunum, has an anatomy so unusual that researchers say it has left them baffled, forcing a reevaluation of how certain dinosaurs are classified and how they supposedly evolved.

According to evolutionary expectations, dinosaurs should fall neatly into well ordered family trees shaped by slow, gradual change over millions of years. But this fossil refuses to cooperate. Although Foskeia pelendunum is classified as an early plant eating ornithischian dinosaur, it displays a strange mix of skeletal features that scientists normally expect to see separated into different evolutionary groups. Its jaw and teeth suggest a feeding strategy that does not match what evolutionists predict for dinosaurs of its size or position in the evolutionary timeline. Even its overall body structure challenges assumptions about what early plant eating dinosaurs should have looked like.

When evolutionists encounter fossils like this, the response is always the same. Rather than strengthening the evolutionary narrative, discoveries like Foskeia pelendunum expose how fragile and flexible that narrative truly is.

From a biblical creation perspective, this discovery is not surprising at all. Scripture tells us that God created land animals fully formed, each after its kind, with the structures they needed from the beginning. There was no long chain of experimental body plans and no trial and error process stretching across deep time. God’s designs were intentional, functional, and diverse right from the start. A small dinosaur with a unique combination of features is exactly what we would expect from an intelligent Creator who values variety, not from blind evolutionary processes.

This tiny dinosaur does not undermine the Bible. It undermines the evolutionary framework used to interpret the fossil record. If a single fossil can force scientists to rethink entire branches of their evolutionary tree, then that tree was never rooted in solid ground. What we are seeing instead is the incredible diversity of life that reflects a wise and creative Designer, not the products of chance.

The Bible declares that God’s works are wonderful and purposeful, and every new fossil discovery continues to confirm that truth. Even a small, strange looking dinosaur reminds us that creation points upward, not backward, to the mind of the Creator who spoke all things into existence.

The Biblical Connection Between Creation and Nutrition

"Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." Genesis 2:7

At first glance, that verse might sound poetic. Yet the more scientists study the human body, the more remarkable it becomes that the very elements making up our bodies are the same elements found in the earth around us. This isn't just a spiritual truth. It's also a chemical reality.

The human body is composed primarily of oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus, along with smaller amounts of potassium, sodium, magnesium, iron, sulfur, zinc, copper, iodine, selenium, and many other trace elements. Every one of these elements exists naturally in the earth. Plants absorb them from the soil, animals eat the plants, and we eat both plants and animals, continually replenishing our bodies with the same elements from which God originally formed Adam.

God didn't just create us from the earth. He also designed the earth to sustain us. Healthy soil is rich in minerals and beneficial microorganisms that support healthy plant growth. Those plants nourish animals and people, providing the nutrients our bodies need to function. Even our gut microbiome benefits from a healthy diet and regular exposure to the natural world God created, highlighting yet another way His design connects us to the earth.

This also reminds us why the food we eat matters. When we eat foods close to the way God created them, such as fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, fish, nuts, and dairy, we receive the nutrients our bodies were designed to use. Highly processed foods often lose much of their original nutritional value while replacing it with refined sugars, starches, and artificial ingredients. God's design for both the earth and our bodies points us toward nourishing ourselves with the foods He provided.

Of course, knowing our bodies contain the same elements as the earth doesn't explain life itself. Scientists know what the human body is made of, but no laboratory has ever taken those same elements and produced a living person. The ingredients are not the mystery. The astonishing organization of DNA, cells, organs, and biological systems is.

Genesis doesn't merely say we came from dust. It says God formed us from the dust. Those are two very different ideas. Every meal serves as a quiet reminder that the minerals beneath our feet become the food on our tables, and that food becomes our bones, muscles, blood, and brain. Modern chemistry has simply confirmed what Scripture declared thousands of years ago: we truly are made from the dust of the earth, but dust alone has never explained life. Only the Creator does.
