It’s always a great day for ice cream, but today was even better! 🍦 ☀️

Beautiful weather. Amazing kid vendors. And so many people that we got to meet and hang out it with throughout the day.

I (RJ) can’t help but get a little sentimental watching football with my kids these days.

I grew up watching Barry Sanders play. I still remember the one game we went to as a family at the Pontiac Silverdome. I even remember listening on the radio when Barry hit 2,000 rushing yards in a season.

And now, almost 30 years later, I get to watch Jahmyr Gibbs with my own kids. And I can’t help but think that we’re watching something special again. That someday they’ll be talking about watching Jah the same way I still talk about watching Barry. 🐐

There’s just something really cool about getting to share the things you loved as a kid with your own kids.

And it’s been even more fun to see how they’ve made it their own. Eli has spent hours drawing and creating his own artwork inspired by the players we watch together. And now I get to wear a shirt that my son designed while we cheer on the same team I grew up cheering for.

I don’t know exactly what moments my kids will remember 30 years from now. Maybe it’ll be a big touchdown, a game we went to together, or just all the Sundays we spent on the couch watching football.

But I sure hope they’ll look back on these days with the same kind of joy that I have looking back on mine.

We are SO excited that Alice and Emmy get to be a part of a special kid entrepreneur pop-up with Bruce + Molly | Dinks in Detroit and MJ’s North End Ice Cream!

One of our favorite parts of building this little business as a family has been watching the kids grow in their creativity, confidence, and excitement about what they’re making. And getting to spend an afternoon surrounded by other kids who are dreaming big and creating things of their own? That’s pretty special.

So come hang out with us! The girls will be selling some of their favorite designs, there will be other amazing kid-owned businesses to support, and of course, ICE CREAM! 🍦

Pretty & Gritty is BACK IN STOCK! 💙🤍

Of all the designs Alice has dreamed up, this one might capture her style and personality better than any other right now.

A little girly, a little sporty, and a whole lot of Detroit.

One of our favorite things about building this little business as a family is getting to watch the kids discover their own creative styles. And with every new design, we’re seeing more and more of what the kids are capable of creating together.

From the little hearts on the sleeves to the big Pretty & Gritty design on the back, she had a vision for this one. And it’s been so fun watching her bring it to life (and seeing so many of you love it too!).

After selling out not long after See You Sunday, we’ve been working to get these back in stock, and they’re finally here!

When we look at our girls, we see so much more than just pretty girls. 💙

We see girls who are pretty creative. Pretty funny. Pretty smart. Pretty talented. Pretty amazing. And pretty much a million other things that make us so proud of who they’re becoming.

Oh, and they’re pretty big Lions fans too. 🦁 And Alice’s Pretty & Gritty design is officially back in stock.

If you get a shirt with one of these little hem tags, there’s something you should know: Emmy sewed it on. 🧵

And lately, she’s sewn a lot of them.

When we started this little family business, none of us really knew all the things we’d end up learning along the way. For Emmy, one of those things has been sewing.

She’s learning that it takes time. That sometimes you have to pull the stitches out and try again. That the only way to get faster and better is to keep doing it.

And she’s got some pretty big ideas for what she’d like to learn how to make next.

For now, though, we love that every one of these little x’s is something she gets to add to what we’re making together.
