I think we all have one... That outfit that makes us feel a little more polished. I usually gravitate to styles that are more loose and flowing, but this one just feels so neat and tidy (but still cute and fun)! I don't know that I've given this simple version of the Iris Dress Sewing Pattern the attention that it deserves... As much as I love dresses with lots of ruffles and details, there is something about a beautiful, understated dress. Plus... I put this dress together in about an hour and a half (I sew fast, but even for someone working at normal speeds, this is a perfect afternoon project).

I am still planning to add some patch pockets as soon as I finish the hand embroidery. If you are an absolute beginner, this is an awesome first dress sewing project. If you are a more experienced sewist, it's a very satisfying project that is not too time or fabric intensive.

While I personally believe you can never have too many sewing patterns, if you are looking for one new pattern to build your spring and summer wardrobe, the new Iris Dress and Top Pattern might just be it. Make it fancy, make it simple, make it with pockets, make a dress, make a top...the choice is yours. I've made variations using cotton voile, linen, and quilting cottons and I honestly can't decide which version is my favorite.

This pattern features a flattering high waistline, a comfortable elastic panel in the back, and tie straps at the shoulders. Choose from inseam pockets or oversized patch pockets, a simple skirt, or a ruffle tiered skirt. This pattern is beginner friendly and will be releasing on April 1st in US sizes 0-20. Each pattern included a print at home file, A0 Copyshop file, projector file, and a step-by-step sewing tutorial to guide you through the entire sewing process. I can't wait to see what you make!
