Here's just a sample of items that were purchased during my Pay Your Price Sale and what customers chose to pay.
Some people paid close to my regular price, some paid closer to my wholesale cost, and some paid somewhere in between. There wasn't a right or wrong answer—that was the whole point of the sale.
I wanted to share these examples because I think they paint a realistic picture of what it's like to run a small business.
What you don't see behind each item is the shipping costs, credit card processing fees, website fees, packaging, advertising, utilities, rent, taxes, time spent ordering, steaming, tagging, photographing, listing online, creating posts, and helping customers. All of those expenses have to be covered before a business ever sees a profit.
Could I price everything much higher? Absolutely. But I've always tried to keep my prices fair and affordable while still offering quality products.
This sale wasn't about making money—it was about having fun, celebrating my birthday with all of you, clearing inventory as I continue rebranding Eleven 28 Boutique, and opening the door for conversations like this one.
Thank you again to everyone who participated. I truly hope these posts give you a little more appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes of a small business and why supporting local—whether it's by making a purchase, sharing a post, or recommending a business—really does make a difference. 🩵
