Friends of Doucette New York,
Over the last few months, I've heard many describe Stephanie as a legend, an icon, among other compliments. She was, of course, all of that and so much more: a mother, a lover, a wife, a friend... Steffo was the most present and caring person I have ever known.
She cared about her business.
She cared for her customers.
She cared about where she made purchases.
She cared for main street.
She cared about the impact of her choices.
She cared for those she worked with.
She cared about quality.
She cared for every detail in her pieces.
She cared about her family.
She cared for her family.
Like many, I miss her dearly & daily. The loss is immeasurable, amplified by its unexpected arrival. There are no silver linings here, but I am happy to relay that near the end I watched her find true pride and confidence in her own work and as an artist - a beautiful thing to have witnessed and for her to have achieved.
The Doucette New York store is closing but please continue to carry her in your heart.
Remember to take time for a stranger, offer them the benefit of the doubt, shop a bit more intentionally and locally. even if it requires a bit more effort or patience. "Keep your footprint as light as a kiss." If you are reading this, you likely know why that is worth it.
Thank you for your support for the most important person in my life.
Stephanie, we will all miss you.
- Mark & Family.
