Winter Wool Designs Handmade accessories for fall and winter weather. Hello! My name is Winter, and yes, I love the winter time.

I learned how to crochet in 2014 because I wanted to make a crochet blanket for my youngest child who we were patiently waiting for. In 2017 I started designing, making and selling crochet wear at local events. While I still make and sell warm and cozy things, I am now also publishing all of the patterns from the product lines that I have designed over the years. My patterns are great for creating

your own coordinating sets and product lines. They are designed to not eat a lot of time or yarn, so you get that wonderful instant gratification and can easily build an inventory for your own handmade business.

Free Pattern Friday!
We sped our way through October. Welcome November! To celebrate the first Friday of the month, here is an oversized, super squishy scarf pattern. The Aspen Scarf uses ribbing stitches for lots of texture and a gender neutral look.

Pro Tip from my Grandma 😊: when you're crocheting gloves, mittens, or socks and struggle to make them both the same size, work 3 or 4 rows of one and then switch to the other and work 3 or 4 rows. If your tension changes as you work, it will be consistent between the two.

It's been nearly 10 years since I learned how to crochet! I found this photo of my first project a few days ago and I thought I'd share it.
Our son was a year old and we were expecting our youngest. I decided I wanted to make our new little one something special that was just for her. I watched You Tube videos, crocheted a couple of small squares and then I made my baby girl a blanket. It's not perfect, I can still find the 2 stitches that I messed up, but it was made for her.
